Sustainable Fashion Events

The fashion industry is worth £32 billion to the UK economy, and the sector employs around 890,000 people, according to a report by the British Fashion Council. The UK produces around 1 million tons of textile waste each year, with an estimated £140 million worth of clothing going to landfill annually, according to the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
The WRAP also estimates that extending the life of clothing by just nine months could reduce carbon, water, and waste footprints by around 20-30%. A survey by the environmental charity Hubbub found that 22% of UK adults have thrown away clothes after wearing them just once, and the average UK household owns around £4,000 worth of clothing, with around 30% of it unworn in the past year. However, the same survey also found that 63% of UK adults would be willing to wear second-hand clothing or donate unwanted clothes to charity.

These statistics highlight the impact of the fashion industry on the UK economy, our personal finances and the environment, as well as the potential for sustainable fashion practices to make a difference.

Our Sustainable Fashion Events, that educate and encourage others to adopt a more conscious approach to apparel consumption. We believe that by Recreating our habits and choices, we can help Restore and Renew the planet. With the ongoing cost of living crisis, our aim is to promote sustainable fashion practices and help navigate this issue. We believe that everyone can play a role in reducing waste and promoting sustainability, and our events are a fun and accessible way to learn more about sustainable fashion and connect with like-minded individuals.

And this is where Recrea can help you to make a difference for yourself, the world and future generations. Our Sustainable Fashion Events can be organised for groups or individuals  of any age to help Educate and Recreate something special. It is our passion to help play an important role in reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry, encourage a more sustainable lifestyle and help society navigate through the cost of living crisis.

By providing education and resources for young and old, on topics such as upcycling, repairing, and ethical fashion choices, our events can help everyone reduce their apparel (clothing & accessories) consumption and waste. Evermore important during the over-consumption and cost of living crisis currently affecting the UK. Our events can help build more resilient and sustainable communities.
